Small Team, Big Impact – A Story of Student-Led Ministry

They say dynamite comes in small packages—and our Student-Led Ministry (SLM) team is living proof of that! Though we’re a compact team, stretched across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, and Cape Town, our hearts (and calendars) are full with what God is doing on campuses nationwide.

Each campus has its own rhythm, and in some, we see students rising up with boldness, creativity, and a passion for the gospel. From weekly Bible studies and group gatherings to late-night strategy sessions, students aren’t waiting for instruction to lead—they’re taking ownership of ministry and shaping it into something authentic, vibrant, and truly student-led.

As SLM staff, our role has shifted beautifully—from leading from the front to walking alongside student leaders, cheering them on, equipping them, and sometimes just carrying snacks to their events! We’ve watched students step up to lead prayer meetings, organize outreach events, and even mentor their peers. It’s clear: God is at work, and He’s calling a generation to lead now, not later.

We’re so grateful for the growth we’ve seen—not just in numbers, but in depth, maturity, and vision. What a privilege it is to support this movement and witness how students are stepping into the calling of discipleship with courage and conviction.

So here’s to our student leaders—bold, faithful, and on fire for Jesus. And here’s to what God continues to do through this beautifully messy, joyfully vibrant, and powerfully student-led ministry.
