Development Teams

Team, Family, Disciples, A body greater than the sum of its parts – these may be words that are written by men, but their conception comes from God’s own heart.  He never meant for us to function alone, especially in the fulfilment of the Great Commission (reaching people for Jesus as depicted in Matthew 28:18-20). This is the heart behind CCCSA’s Development Teams. Every team in CCCSA trusts God and recruits men and women who are not in full-time ministry with CCCSA to serve on a Development Team. This is where they offer their time, wisdom, networking skills and financial investment to see the mission of that specific team fulfilled.  One such team is the TUKS Development team – committed to seeing the Student-Led Movement at the University of Pretoria flourish.

Gather, grow and steward

An important aspect of discipleship that is often overlooked is teaching believers about stewardship of resources. From the book of Genesis, we read that God gave man dominion over the Earth’s resources (Gen 1:26-31) and instructions on how to gather and maintain those resources. This implies a high level of trust and stewardship. With that in mind, the Partner Development team trains and coaches our missionaries to develop and maintain funding of their ministry through Ministry Partnership (Christians who invest in individual missionaries). This is an ongoing part of our ministry but annually  requires a focused time of training and encouragement. This is called a DMPD (Discipleship Ministry Partner Development) Blitz. It is a week-long workshop and is a big encouragement to our missionaries as they see how God provides for them and networks them with other believers. Our most recent DMPD Blitz was hosted in the Western Cape and bore good fruit.
