Christmas is a powerful reminder of God’s humility

Dear CCC Family,

Thank you for partnering with us in ministry throughout this year. Together, we’ve witnessed God transform lives through your contributions of Labour, Influence, Finance, and Expertise (L.I.F.E). As CCCSA, we remain steadfast in fulfilling the Great Commission in our generation by boldly winning people to Christ, deeply building them in their faith, and urgently sending them to do the same.

Christmas is a powerful reminder of God’s humility. The King of kings became human, His humility evident not just in His birth in a manger but throughout His life, culminating in His sacrificial death on the cross.

Philippians 2:4-11 beautifully captures this:

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Christ’s journey to the cross was essential to reconcile us to God. Now that we are reconciled, we are entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation. As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:18:

“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”

While it’s natural for us to prioritize our own needs, Paul encourages us to extend the same care and concern to others. This festive season, let’s ask God to open our eyes to opportunities to join Him in His work—helping others be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

May the Lord bless and keep you during this season. Rest deeply in Him, and, Lord willing, we look forward to continuing our journey of L.I.F.E together in 2025.

In Christ,

Chris Dirks
