CCC Across Continents: A6’s Bold Mission in Stellenbosch

From the 23rd of January to the 13th of February this year, the Stellenbosch CCC team had the privilege of hosting an A6 team from Incheon CCC, Korea. A6, named after Acts 6000, is a mission project aimed at reaching 6000 campuses worldwide with the message of Jesus. As members of the SLM (Student-Led Movement) team, we have all witnessed the power of international partnerships in igniting local ministry efforts, and this trip was no exception.

Growing Student Leaders Through Partnership

One of the most rewarding experiences was watching how our students in Stellenbosch were empowered to take on leadership roles, working side by side with the Korean team. It was inspiring to see our ministry becoming more student-led as they grew in their ability to plan and lead activities. This was something we had all been working toward, and the Korean team’s visit showed us how God is using students to lead the charge on campus.

We kicked off the trip with a welcome party and orientation—a fun and warm event where we introduced our Korean friends to the local culture and got to know each other better. Both teams performed a short dance to represent their countries, adding a bit of flair and setting the tone for the week. It was a wonderful way to break the ice and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Faith in Action on Campus

A standout moment for the entire team was the Nehemiah prayer walk on campus. Together, we walked around the university, praying over specific areas and asking God to move powerfully in the hearts of students. It was a beautiful, unifying time of prayer, as we sought God’s guidance and interceded for our campus, asking Him to open doors for the Gospel to be shared.

The adventure continued with a treasure hunt around Stellenbosch, where our students, along with the Korean team, explored the town in search of clues. The competition was fierce, but the fun was infectious!

Weekdays were dedicated to evangelism. We spent our days on campus, sharing the FOUR—the four simple points of the Gospel: God’s love, man’s sin, Christ’s sacrifice, and our response. It was amazing to see how open people were to these conversations and how many seeds of faith were planted during our outreach.

One of the highlights for all of us each week was our weekly gatherings, where we invited the newly ‘reached’ students to join us. These gatherings were a beautiful blend of games, Bible discussion, and food—a relaxed and fun way to create a community where students could explore faith in a welcoming environment. It was a joy to see relationships growing, with new friendships forming around shared meals and conversations about Jesus.

FOUR Day, K-Culture, and Gospel Conversations

The outreach culminated in a fantastic event—the FOUR Day on campus. We brought out the big guns! The Korean team introduced us to traditional Korean games, filling the air with energy and laughter. Students from all backgrounds gathered to play, connect, and win cool snacks and prizes from Korea—instant hits that got everyone involved. It created a relaxed and fun atmosphere, making it so easy to have natural conversations about faith.

An unexpected blessing was the overwhelming popularity of K-drama and K-pop among the local students. Many were immediately drawn to the Korean team, excited to meet them and connect over their shared love of Korean culture. This was a huge advantage for our outreach! The students’ curiosity about Korean culture opened the door to many conversations about the Gospel, and the Korean team’s presence made it all the more engaging and accessible.

What stood out even more was the boldness the Korean students displayed in witnessing to strangers, despite the challenges of speaking English in a foreign country. They were fearless! Whether in casual conversations or more structured outreach activities, they shared the Gospel with confidence. Their courage was an inspiration to all of us, reminding us that the message of Christ transcends language barriers and that God’s love is powerful enough to break through any cultural or linguistic differences.

A Lasting Impact

Through the A6 mission, we saw God move in incredible ways, bringing together students from different cultures and backgrounds to spread the Gospel and build lasting relationships. It was a beautiful reminder of the global reach of the Gospel and how God is using students as messengers of His love. It was an honour for all of us to serve alongside the Korean team and witness the fruit of their efforts, which will continue to bear fruit long after they return to Incheon.

Reflecting on the success of A6 in Stellenbosch, we’re all filled with hope and gratitude. God is truly at work, not just in our campus ministry but worldwide. We are blessed to be part of this global movement and are excited to see how He will continue to use the students here in Stellenbosch to make an impact—not only on their peers but on the 6000 campuses A6 aims to reach.
