The Animated Story of Jesus
JESUS (2025) is a new, animated family film about the life of Jesus designed to reach families, new generations, and people of all ages. Anchored in the Gospels, the film re-imagines the original JESUS film released by the Jesus Film Project in 1979, using much of its dialogue in a refreshed script. The film is planned to release Christmas 2025 and will eventually be in 2,000+ languages!
JESUS (2025) builds on the global impact of JESUS (1979) and more than 40 years of Bible translation work, language production and strong relationships with ministry partners––helping the global church reach everyone, everywhere.
Why feature-film animation
We’re committed to creating films and resources in heart languages but also in visual, oral mediums that speak to the heart’s language. An animated feature-film does so in a moving, vibrant, multi-generational medium that’s already familiar and beloved. It’s a captivating form of media that can cross barriers of age, culture, race and gender.
An innovative ministry tool
It’s our prayer that by using the film, the next generation––our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren––can continue to fulfil the Great Commission. Sharing the story of Jesus, inspire Christians everywhere to be a living example of hope and love in the world around them. The film’s innovations are set to change the future landscape of animation and ministry!
