FamilyLife is the Marriage and Family Strategy of Campus Crusade for Christ.
Robert and Koliswa Moropa are volunteers with FamilyLife. Their heart and passion for equipping married couples stretch over the past 39 years. They got involved in 1984 when they were invited to the very first South African Family Life conference in Johannesburg.
Earlier this year their friends, Pastor Don and Nomsa Phillip invited them to do The Art of Marriage seminar at Rhema Umtata Christian Church Ministries (RUCC). The Moropa’s took this challenge without any hesitation and a date was finalised, the weekend of 31 March and 1 April.
Registrations went ballistic in the few weeks prior to the seminar. With RUCC situated in the Eastern Cape communications was a challenge. In the end, we had to rush the pricing of a lot of manuals in the two weeks before the seminar. Getting the manuals in time to Umtata was a big thing. Robert arranged with the airline and after paying for the overweight, he could take it with him on the plane. We praise the Lord, the Moropa’s and the 320 manuals arrived safely and on time at RUCC. In the end, we had to print and send more manuals because more people attended. We can only commend Lorraine at Colourtech Printing for walking more than the proverbial extra mile to accommodate us.
The feedback afterwards was great. 340 people (give or take 170 couples) attended and testified that their marriage relationships were truly enriched. 181 people re-committed their marriages to Jesus Christ and 8 received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
The congregation’s leaders committed to do the follow-up with couples. They were so inspired by the seminar that they decided all their pastors should do The Art of Marriage. They are now arranging a seminar in September and Robert and Koliswa will facilitate again.
What a beautiful testimony of volunteers serving faithfully and reaping an abundant harvest. Thank you, Robert and Koliswa you are an inspiration.
